Real defense stat?

Am i the only one that feels that you can work out how good a defender is going to be by adding their pace and physical. Ex. Walker 90 + 80 = 170 Best RB Ingame.

And Maldini (166) Vs Beckenbauer (163). In my opinion Maldini is a better defender Ingame.

    pace doesn't matter as long as you have 68+ as a CB and 78+ as a LB/RB

    As long as you can run into somebody and steal the ball, pace will continue to be a good defensive stat. Why push the tackle button and miss when you can just run into someone, especially if the ref isn't going to calls fouls on you. :)
