Before the insults come in about money....I spend money on what i like so dont hate plz.

Im planning on spending $1500 dollars day 1 of early access. We who spend money need to know the exact process this year before we lose our money over miscommunication.

Early access - points market closed? If so that means we cant buy till full release.

Load up 1.5 grand worth of points on 17 and transfer to 18? Refuse to do this unless ea clarifys this is the case. Imagine 1.5k stuck on 17?

Can we even have fifa points during early access?

Can someone please clarify this for me or even an ea rep? This is very important to ea so id assume we need info.

Thanks for listening folks. Input appreciated.

If you're planning to buy so much, I'd say it's safest to just buy it in Fifa 18 itself, whenever the FP store opens. Then you have zero risk of bugs like points transfer going wrong or whatever.

I've seen in the past large purchases can get an account flagged too.

Why would you wanna buy them before the game is out anyway?

Will packs be available for purchase in early access? If so, so will FP.

Im almost 100 percent points market will be closed. Do we transfer this year or what? I cant find any article online about this for fifa 18.

No way they have the store open if they don't give you the ability to buy

Oh and the 'release date' for the pre-order of FP on Best Buy's website is 9/26 so I'm assuming the store and the ability to buy FP will be open and available on the day early release happens.

Interesting info! Nice find bro. How much are you gna drop on early release? I still need some more info from ea or an ea article at least.

    $1500 lmao.

throwing it out of a moving car window would be a better use than fifa points.

Obviously people are free to spend their money how they like, but as far as this game goes I just cannot understand why anyone spends their money on it.

It's not difficult to get any player you want by just trading or playing matches, especially now FUT Champions rewards exist.

Aside from that Ronaldo, Suarez, Messi perform no better than Montero, Musa, Antonio (in my experience). Speed and 4 star skills is more than enough to be effective.

Maybe I'm just really unlucky with my connection or something but with the gameplay I have had in Fifa 17 (and now with the Fifa 18 Beta) there is no way I would even consider spending money on Fifa 18.

Fifa 18 is basically Fifa 17 with the manual defending nerfed even more... if you play the ball straight through the centre and double tap past the keeper you will score pretty much everytime... no need for Fifa points for that, just pick the fastest Premier League striker you can afford.

That said, if you drop 1.5k on the game, well, I just hope you aren't left disappointed afterwards.

Aww come on we all have our expensive hobbies (or vices). Some spend tens of thousands modding their cars, some spend thousands modding their road bikes, some spend thousands on plain T-shirts with just a certain logo on them, some spend thousands on fancy meals, some spend thousands on gaming. As long as we spend within our means, there's nothing wrong.

Do what makes you happy dude. If I could afford £1500 on a computer game, I'd be a happy man - but with a mortgage, car and kids to pay for - I'll stick to just paying £90 for the Icon edition and have fun with it regardless

I ended up with a pretty sick team this year without buying many fifa points at all, so it's doable... but whatever makes you happy my man!

OP: Sorry I don't know but would also like to know this.

So many negative, useless and unhelpful replies from people judging the OP when all he wanted was a simple answer. It sums up this community and it's really quite sad.

If you can afford it then go ahead. Nothing to be ashamed off. Some proper melts in here.

As far as I know from own experience you should buy the points before early access on fifa 17 and then transfer to 18. Wait for confirmation from EA that you will be able to do so. You can also only do it once per FIFA so be careful with the transfer .You can buy FIFA points on early access but there has been some issues in the past with purchasing points from the store or people not being able to access to the web app hence why you should buy before early access comes out. Make sure you play it safe though as described below because EA won't compensate and your points will rot on fut 17

What I will be doing :

Best thing to do is to WAIT till fut 18 web app release (will be max. 1 week prior to early access) and wait for confirmation from EA or from respected sources on twitter that it works and then load up the points on the fut 17 account and transfer to fut 18 to be on the safe side.

Wish you some good pack luck.

As above, I honestly couldn't tell you. Since the introduction of fifa points, I'm sure a points transfer has been available for the following version of Fifa, however don't take my word on that.

What @Icosa_Gaming has stated in the final paragraph is exactly what I'll be doing.

Maybe don't buy all $1500 on Fifa 17. Just do like $300 or something in case something goes wrong. If I remember correctly you only get one chance to transfer the points over. If you accidentally skip the step or your internet dies when you're doing it or something then you're screwed.

There's no way the store isn't up and running for the 3 days early access.

I'd hold the money until the early access starts I think. Smallest chance anything will go wrong with it
