He'll be no lukaku that's for sure but still a good signing imo.

On the contrary, Rom shares more similarities to Didier than Costa did.

"Doesnt have the physicality." He's 6ft2 he's not as strong as some strikers but he's hardly weak

With that logic, Kante is similar to Drogba.

In all seriousness, Didier had a bit of everything. Finishing, even if not like Ronaldo, pace, even if not like Henry. He was that type of player. Lukaku's a bit like that. Except that Drogba was consistent and didn't pass the ball instead of taking a first touch.

Aguero, Henry, Bergkamp, Suarez, Shearer. None were particularly strong, the guy's talking out of his arse.

Crouch has always done well wherever he's been tbh, especially given the chance and game time.

Bergkamp & Shearer were quite strong

Aguero is also strong for his size

    ^ on the money

Torres was also VERY strong on the ball, could burst past defenders and hold them off no trouble, same goes for Henry.

Suarez again...STRONG player, underrated ability to hold up the ball. Think thats his desire above all else.

Morata will be good for Chelsea regardless, intelligent player above all else.

All great strikers can hold their own in physical battles regardless of shape or size, whether it's through brute strength or technique and speed on the ball.

For some reason there's a consensus going round that only Lukaku-esque ST's can succeed in the PL.

Not really...you hit the nail on the head with your comment above that, top PL strikers are all capable of physically holding their own - more so than in other leagues IMO , what sort of player even is a Lukaku? just quick and strong?

Yep, he's decent on the ball but nothing to write home about. First touch when under pressure is notoriously poor. The whole "he's not physical enough" argument bugs me though, it has no substance.

Quick, strong and plays off the shoulder. Not the best of using his body considering his size. He's not like Drogba really.

Footballing brain still goes a long way further than sheer physicality...

And anyone who thinks a 6ft 2 striker is "weak" ... wrong - for all we know he might suddenly bulk up a bit like De Gea did ... then look how good he was

As a Utd fan I would be just as happy having morata or lukaku, both different players but both quality

Number 9's who flopped at Chelsea....
    - Mateja Kezman
    - Khalid Boulahrouz
    - Franco Di Santo
    - Steve Sidwell
    - Hernan Crespo
    - Radamel Falcao
    - Fernando Torres

It's not looking good for Chelsea. Morata has the number 9 jinx. Is Morata doomed before he even kicked a ball?
