Haircuts - To book or not to book?

Went for a trim earlier today and in doing so I recalled a debate I often have with a misguided member of the EA forum (I'll preserve his anonymity, let's call him Mr.P) who insists on booking in advance to get his barnet done. Personally I cannot fathom why this would be the case, and so I put this to the EA forum in search of answers and inevitable vindication.

To be fair I'm going to spend half a day of my summer trip to London next month just getting a haircut at my regular because the barbers in Cornwall are ❤️❤️❤️❤️, like. So I'd like to revoke my comment directed @Welbeck

My vote reflects what I wish I was doing, however it is not my reality. My barber does a damn good job, and when he switched to appointment only I realized I'm fine with waiting 2 days after I decide it's time for a haircut. Keep your barber happy and it can prevent him ❤️❤️❤️❤️ your life for the next 2-3 weeks.

I'll also say that I'm a firm believer in forming a good relationship with people such as your barber, mechanic, deli owner, contractor, etc...you never know who they might know that can help you.

I refuse to ring people if I don't have to.

You show up, wait your turn, and get your haircut. The only people who make bookings for anything hair related are metrosexual fruitcakes.

Don't you have the barbers number, just ring him and ask if he's busy or not

My barber is a local man whose services I call upon whenever I visit my family for the weekend. He works limited days, so it is quite necessary.

Most people seem to have male barbers. Only ever had 2 guys cut my hair.

I always assumed the usage of 'barber' was lent only to males in the profession. Females would just be referred to as hairdressers or hairstylists. How it has always worked in my mind, at least.

I had never booked, but now got friends with a hairstylist who requires booking as he's pretty much always fully booked.
It's so much more fun to get it done by a good friend.

When you don't book and have to wait an hour for a haircut you know you've made a mistake

Pathetic that some here can't wait 20 minutes for a hair cut and book in advance instead, like you are only going to spend the time you save masturbating to hentai and playing world of war craft anyway you sad freaks

    Time is money pal

Time is money is a poor choice of phrase. If you book in advance, you spend 25 minutes at your barbers and pay £15. If I go without booking I might spend 50 minutes there and pay £15. I've got better value for money.
