Why do socialists shout down anyone who argues against mass immigration. Unions argue it suppresses wages. I'm from Belfast so we don't have the same levels as England but I was recently working in Surrey and the firm I was in was employing Eastern Europeans on half the wage I was on as a self employed temporary worker.

£11 an hour to that Polish/Lithuanian/Romanian etc is still massive money.
But thats a British worker that could have had that job, leading to less people requiring help from the state, less pressure on state services due to less headcount in the country and more money in the governments pockets.

Oh thats right its supposedly racist to talk about immigration.

EU migrants are net contributors to the UK economy.

I.e. they pay more in taxes than they take from public services.

No they are not the Institute for Fiscal Studies showed they break even at best.

The majority of immigrants are unskilled workers who because they earn minimum wage would be entitled to tax credits to bring their wage up to a certain level...thus their tax is negligible.

I'm not against immigration as long as it is skilled workers like Nurses and Doctors, Engineers etc..we don't need unskilled workers there's enough people on the dole to clean hotels and serve in McDonalds or pick potatoes.

If you'd read my comment instead of immediately reacting, you wouldn't have got it wrong.

I did not make a statement on non-EU migrants, where the contribution (or deficit) ranges significantly country by country.

Its shown that at best EU nationals within the UK break even when in comes to tax revenues.

Like I said I have no problem people coming here, but we need to fix our own public services within the four countries of the UK, to make them available to every British citizen when the require them.

Its completely unsustainable to allow 300'000 people a year to come to the UK and expect our services to cope with that demand.

You need to start working in recruitment if you think we don't need immigrants. Go try running the NHS without foreign doctors and nurses.

I never said we don't need them. I said skilled labour is perfectly fine.

Its chambermaids, mcdonalds workers and potato pickers like jobs for immigrants we don't need. There's enough folk knocking about the UK on benefits capable of working that could do those jobs and contribute to society.

    Missing the point.

    They won't do these jobs

They need to be forced into them or remove jobseekers simple.

Why should the rest off society be shouldered with their burden (local lazy ❤️❤️❤️❤️) whilst services are being stretched to breaking point due to the massive rise in the population over a short period off time.

I was working in Surrey for 15 months upto last month and a 1 bedroom unfurnished flat is over £1000 a month. Thats completely crazy and down to an oversupply of demand compared to the housing stock available.

300k+ for a 3 bed semidetached house is unreal.

The overdemand is down to the numvbr of jobs/well paying jobs in London, not a massive rise in population.

In the north we have immigrants and 3 bed semis for half the price. :o

I wasn't saying the over demand down South was mainly due to immigrants just pointing out the housing sector is fcuked in the South. It also stops people relocating from the North to the South for jobs

I admit I'm using unnecessary stereotypes here but I read through the thread and it's pretty much filled with comments like mine or with comments insulting labour and Corbyn with no actual argument to back up the insult. It's pathetic to be honest but oh well.

Corbyn, Diane "the bigot" Abbott and John McDowell supported the IRA's campaign against British soldiers, policemen and its citizens in the UK during the 70's and 80's.

Completely unbelievable that anyone would want them 3 as PM, Treasury Secretary and Home Secretary and are not ruling out Sinn Fein being used to prop them up in a minority government.

I'd vote for the raving looney monster party before that them ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Tories win with gains in seats, despite the actual margin of votes between the 2 parties shrinking.

It's called smear campaign and praying on people's fears. Those tabloid headlines this morning are the perfect example of the scaremongering that's been happening since the election was called. Theresa May has ran a horrendous campaign and will still win because she is backed by major corporations like the BBC + Murdoch's lot. If that's democracy then sure, rule Britannia.

(And i haven't changed my mind, i'll be voting SNP to try and limit the amount of seats the tories get. If i was in England i'd definitely be voting for Corbyn)

I'm labour. Although Corbyn is not the ideal leader of labour in my view, I agree with many of the things that he stands by and he is better than anyone else. Besides, I really think people should vote for the party not the person and stop getting so caught up on personalities or traits of the party leaders.
