I think you should give it a try, apparently theres a lot less rare gold players in ligue1 than other leagues so its a bit easier to pack TOTS in these packs than previous ones.

I carried on playing 15 while 16 was out and was making circa 100k a day just trading consumables. Had near all TOTS from big Leagues and 8 of the TOTY by the time 17 came out.

The easiest way is to buy special cards when they're cheap and wait till they rise in price. I've bought a lot of TOTW cards for 10-12k this year and later sold them for >20k but right now I only make coins by trading with >300k players and with TOTS released on Tuesdays.
I bought 5 Guardados for 40-50k and already sold all of them for 100-120k, same with Dendoncker (bought 4 for <35k, sold for 80k), Talisca (bought 3 for <40k, sold for 85k), etc. Players from these leagues are in packs only for 3 days so the desired ones always rise once they're out of packs

Quite a few things, Bronze pack method, just buying bronze packs stacking the players for SBCs selling consumables. A bit slow sometimes but no risk.
I bought players for every league SBC as cheap as possible and gained loads of packs that way plus profit from selling the spare players, still have more or less full leagues for the ones not out yet (hopefully at some point)
A couple of times when there have been lot of packs being opened consumables dropped to under half their normal price so I hoovered up as many as I could afford to sell back later, this is what has funded my league specific SBC splurge, still have 250k plus maybe 300k in consumables to sell.
My untradeable / bought for discard Ligue 1 squad. The blue ones costed me around 250k which is not too bad but I don't want to stop until I pack Lacazette/Cavani/Mbappe. I had a really good goal per game ratio on my previous Gomis but now everyone quits after first goal lol

That's a cracker had some good pulls from them using the non rare golds from the ligue1 sbcs (Ibra, Ozil, Marchisio, Gundogan, IF Insigne, IF Rudiger) but never 2 in the one pack.
