Spilled water on my xbox one, none really directly on top, mostly at the bottom. Thought I'd turned it off at the plug but realised it wasn't plugged into the that socket it was plugged in elsewhere. Probably plugged in for 30 seconds afterwards and on then it died.

Need to buy a new one I'm guessing?

    If it's proper dead then new one it is. Fixing them costs a bomb and just isn't worth it over getting just another one.

    Warranty won't cover accidental damage.

    House/contents insurance probably will though?

    Wait for it to dry out then give it another shot i guess! Only option.

    The usual XB1 warranty doesn't cover self caused problems. It kicks in only if the product is faulty.

    pH of common fluids
    A number less than 7 indicates an acid solution, while a number above 7 indicates an alkaline solution. Both cases are bad for electronic components. Knowing the pH of the fluid can help give you an idea of how severe the damage is.

    Pure water neutral pH = 7.0
    Sea water i.e. Saltwater = about 8.2
    Regulated Pool Water = 7.2 - 7.8 (Source)
    Lemon juice = 2.3
    Cola = 2.5
    Fruit Juice = 3.5
    Beer = 4.5
    Coffee = 5.0
    Tea 5.5
    Hand Soap = 9.0 -10.0
    Bleach = 12.5

    That would be fine if the xbox wasn't switched on when it happened.

    Chances are, the damage is already been done. You can't clean damage! :'(

    Found the Xbox to be quite solid. Dropped it off a side about 4 feet high. Not even a dent :lol:

    I'd get your fut champs games in then exchange asap, may work fine again but chances are it will start dying out.
