Favourite midfielder of my generation. Gerrard was great but Xabi just made it look so effortless and easy every single game.

Came over and got us over the round of 16 jinx that was going on and won us a league,2copas and ofcourse La Decima. Was devastated when he broke the news he was moving to Bavaria .. That with Adm being sold are up there as my worst days as a fan..

Genuinely one of my favourite players ever, and he improved Gerrard to no end.

His role in the 08/09 Liverpool team was superb.

Excellent player. Is he retired as of now or once the seasons over?

Excellent player. Is he retired as of now or once the seasons over?

    End of the season.

Alonso and Gerrard legend cards in FIFA 18 and that would be my midfield sorted for the year.

To go with Litmanen, Fowler and Owen.

Now all we need is Jan Molby

Molby was slightly sarcastic, as he'd have about 10 pace :D

Hansen, Dalglish and Souness. I'd be happy.

    Souness card would be dreamy.

    What man.

I had him on the back of our 04/05 kit, took about 2 weeks into the season for me to realise how amazing he was and beg my parents to take me to JJB to get it done.

As much as I love Rafa, I will never forgive him for causing Xabi leave. Imagine pining for Gareth Barry over this legend.

Haha JJB. Jesus, I remember getting Emile Heskey's name put on the back of one of my shirts there years ago.

Alonso and Lahm retiring at the end of the season, Bayern winning the CL would be perfect.

Agree Rafa was trying to flog him to Juve with Barry as his replacement. :D

Yep bloody ridiculous from Rafa. He made the game seem so effortless. I always remember the standard formula for Liverpool scoring - Xabi wins ball/gets it off defenders, Xabi picks out Gerrard, Gerrard plays in Torres, Torres scores!! Rinse and repeat

He is probably one of the most universally liked players.

Even Barca, Dortmund and United fans would have a hard time disliking him
