Flipping through my Xbox clips to post one in another thread, and I have alot of "lowlights." Those headscratching, controller smashing moments.... Like....
Those are pretty rough, there's no denying that. I'd be frustrated if they happened to me too.
Still, there's part of me that thinks we just expect too much from our video games. I remember playing John Elway Quarterback on the original Nintendo and thinking that was fantastic. These games have come such a long way from that point, but I still don't think they're at the point where you can expect full, true to life physics and graphics. This is especially evident when you slow things down and view multiple angles, like you did in your clips.
I think this is where I differ from a lot of people on this forum - most are super eager to blame ❤️❤️❤️❤️ or some intentional malfeasance, where I am more apt to think that the game engine just isn't perfect and that some portions of game play will be anomalous.

Overwhelmingly agree with this.
On another note though.... that ping pong "corner to bicycle, off Alaba, through Boateng's head, off an offensive player, off a defensive player, and in" goal..... that was some stupidly comical bad luck. QQ: What minute of the game did that occur in? The clip does not show it.
You are right. We all expect games to be perfect. I don't. My frustration comes from broken mechanics at times. And when EA is boasting about a 1B in cash flow, honestly, I just expect better.
Listen, I don't get overly bent. Most of me posting this was to show people that stupid ❤️❤️❤️❤️ happens in this game. I just couldn't believe how much of it piled up in a short window. And again, its just poor mechanics. Look at that one where the ball goes through a leg on a backheel then the shooter somehows passes his left leg through his right to get a shot off. It's hilarious when you watch it again. Makes you wanna scream when you are playing the game.
But I also understand that when goals like this happen in the 90th you can't help but think the game is "out to get you."
The "crown jewel" was in the 90th for sure. And honestly, the Ibra bicycle I believe was in the 90th as well.
This is all online game play. Either seasons or WL.

This is what I suspected. It seems in the 45th & 90th minutes you have a much greater chance of getting "lucky". I doubt this is intentional on EAs part, more likely the result of a complicated set of unintended consequences, but I just make sure that I am holding the ball during that time.
I get where you're coming from. In an ideal world, it would be a posting that EA would take notice of and something that they could use to help improve the product.
My guess though is that they're already aware of these kinds of supernatural body behaviors and physics, and that there is just some sort of tolerance for them. Just like any industry, there's always a level of error that is acceptable. The issue in this instance is that we as consumers are saying we reject the level of error that the company is accepting.
As for the 45/90 discussion, I agree like it feels as though there is something to it, even though I don't think it's a mechanic that is out to get anyone. Sadly, it doesn't feel as if we'll ever know anything. If EA could just have the slightest bit of transparency, the experience as a whole would be miles better.

I think this is a really good point.
I went back and played old FIFA's the other day (11-15) and it's amazing how much worse there are than I remember. I always think of 11-13 being the best years but some of the physics and gameplay are truly terrible compared with now.
@semia172 - Yup, they are brutal. And I am telling you, it happens to me a lot. I can't even imagine how many times a shot through my defender's legs has gone in, just as an example.
@CtldChaos - I agree. I am not sold on EA doing this stuff on purpose.
@Xtc - Thanks Painful to relieve some of these. Especially when I missed G1 by 1 game I believe in the week that 2 of the above happened.
@ImAtrocious - Yes, you would hope EA sees this and goes... WOAH. Wait a sec. But being completely honest, I believe they are too busy counting money. Just an opinion. For all I know, they have people programming day and night to debug. And the 45th/90th stuff happens way too much. However, it is also true that you have more real time game time during that time. And you have people pushing, moving more frantic, smashing buttons.
95% of my game clips are me conceding questionable goals. About 20% of those actually arent that bad when I look back at them.
Stupid things happen. I get that. But when the AI stops a defender BEFORE the shot happens, and moves the defender's body out of the way, you really question this game.

The AI is in control of that player. So the player magically stops just before the shot is taken, AND moves the body to let the ball go by..... wtf.
