Nice gap at the top of the table and still in two cup competitions. Be interesting to see how the youngsters from the youth academy do as it is something that Ajax are known for in real life

    FEBRUARY (pt. 1)

While PSV and Feyenoord keep spilling point here and there, Hoven's football machine called Ajax rolls on unhindered in 2018. Attaching NAC, ADO and Heracles to the victory chariot, increasing the thusfar flawless 2018 campaign to a winning streak of seven (eight, if we include the cup game against Heracles as well).

Now the focus turns to more serious work. The winning streak sounds impressive, but to be honest all teams never have been a threat to the mighty Ajax. February will be closed however against Spurs (home), Feyenoord (home), Spurs (away), Twente (away) and the semi finals in the cup (at home) against Utrecht. In five matches, the season of Ajax could head towards a very successful enterprise, or end up as one that could have gone better. On top, more and more interest is shown by other clubs in the players and manager of Ajax.

    Impressive.

At this point it is unlikely to see Ajax losing the league. The gap on the rivals is huge.

Now the Dutch Cup and especially the UEL are the challenges. Personally I am willing to see how it goes against Spurs.

What a classy goal the 1-0 hgas been... Love the way Sinkgraven got free from his defender and earned the space to shoot. Also the buildup that lead to the 2nd goal... Wonderful.

    The 100% record continues.

Nice win over Spurs, hopefully you can hold out in the away leg and then hope you get a good draw in the next round. If the second legs go like the first a lot of big teams could be going out in this round. :)

Yesss!!! With the Eredivisie already almost secured, it's great to see you advance past Tottenham in the Europa League... And from what I read I like also the way in which you defeated them, smart thinking! :)

Really like the way you are displaying this career mode, and the depth you have gone, Ajax are a really fun club to use with some incredible talent, one being Dolberg so it's sad to see him leave for you got a good price for him.
Benfica will be a tough fixture in Europe so let's see how the teams does against another experienced European club.

Great to see you get through. :)

Not the best cup draw there but you can definitely get through.

Wow, still steamrolling apparently... Keep it up! The 'double' is just one match away (even if it's against Twente) and, well, what about pushing for the 'treble'?

Catching up... in the UEL, fantastic performance of the team. The most important thing was to control the key moments.

In the first game, with the 1-0, at the beginning of the second half Spurs didn't take advantage of their moment and you ended up scoring the second and keep a clean sheet.

The 2-0 was good enough, but you still had to resist the Spurs' attacks. Ajax didn't feel panic... not even after Juninho's goal. Quite the opposite actually.

Then the league is closed and the road to the Double too.

The season is fantastic. We only need to know how fantastic is going to be.

    Thanks @subpop @ale85bg @Alastair @Ashy

Well it's still fragile and while the league win is close, I'm focused more on the Cup and on Europe: I just want to win that first cup for Ajax since 2010 and get something done in Europe for the first time in over a decade. Even more so, now that the real Ajax are kicking **** too. It's not just playing the game well, it's trying to mirror it to (an alternative) reality!

Nice of you to admit that the refereeing somehow "helped" you against Benfica. Now the 2nd leg should actually be some kind of formality (unless you're Paris St. Germain I mean, but apaprently you're not despite the red stripe down the middle of the kit).

    Matchday 28 -
albeit (probably) too late, this marks the first time this season both rivals are actually gaining on us

a formality indeed..., what do you do when you got 3-1 up in the away game? Be professional!

Football is a game and luck is part of it, especially in knock out stages. The match was quite balanced... Ajax's early goal was important as it was scored away despite Benfica tied soon. Ajax enjoyed their chances (I remember one at the end of the first half ) as Benfica did too (Ajax central backs didn't have their best day). But the penalty and the red card definitely made the difference and it made possible to score a third too. As I said luck is important too.

You're almost through. You achieved a great result!

14 points ahead, 15 left to play for. First grab for the title will be on April 1st (no joke...)

Well, the league title is indeed almost secured: you'd need a catastrophe not to win it... Things in Europe will be tougher (well, they've always been after all), but at least you could field your starters there and have some of them rest in the domestic competition if you feel like doing so. The only important thing now is to keep focused.
