Using fifa points or coins to enter WL

Wondered if this has even been thought of or could be done, basically if the worst should happen and you don't qualify for weekend league why cant you just pay x coins or points to enter it. Take draft as being an example where of course you can do that?

If you need to pay to get into the WL you're going to have the most miserable 40 games

Because the weekend league is for people who are good enough to qualify.

i think it's a good idea, but shouldn't be as cheap as draft..

WL is new this year and i can see it evolving into something very nice in the future if the devs put their minds into it.

Sounds like a good idea as an alternative, but i think it is better as is. Those who have the time to do it fair play, but it is still frustrating that i could qualify in the week but have no chance to do a single match at the weekend  prefer the trading/BPM this year and completing SBC as it breaks the ragey Divisions matches up!

Not the question of needing to but wanting to like you can with draft.

Kind of defeats the object really doesn't it? I think EA have that covered by the draft. I can't see them making the weekend league a pay to enter event, especially as much of their fanfare around it has been around how it's designed to reward better / regular players.

How can it be false? if you aren't good enough to qualify then you can't play the weekend league, if you are good enough to qualify.... then you can play the weekend league. Your response does not make any sense.

not all good players have the time..

tbh, ppl with full-time jobs and family to look after, sometimes it's hard to get onto those K.Os quals. i'm in div1 and been in WL since 2nd or 3rd week of release date. i would defo appreciate it, if i couldn't play during the week, to pay 20-25k to play WL.

It's not false as such, but you do only need to be as good as the people you get matched against or at the very least, lucky enough to get past them.

The first time I qualified, the hardest game I faced was my second round opponent who I barely scraped past. The semi final and final opponents were probably Div 6-5 players at best.

On topic, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw some sort of way to buy access to the WL next year, even if it were only available on specific weekends.

Just think its discrimination against those who cant play for whatever reason not just that you cant qualify by winning a ko tournament. However you've earnt your coins throughout the game why not use them for WL. OK fifa points is an entirely different argument but then we know it makes EA money so there you have it.

If people could pay to enter the WL then it wouldn't be a challenge, as you could be playing 20 games against lower division poor players. Obviously that would be great when thinking about the rewards, but having to compete properly taking games to penalties just for the win is more rewarding than playing against poor players and beating them 8-0.

its cool its like you have to pay to play a game (the game), then pay to play the game(the players), then pay to play the game(WL/Draft).

Also if you are in division one, just play the season and if you hold the division then you automatically qualify

Its harder to quelife for wl than to get gold 3
To quelife you need to win 4 of 4 matches
    (potentially facing elite ranked players)
To get gold 3 you only need to win 1 of 2 matches against your level players

You are more likely to be facing non elite/gold players in qualifiers as they have already qualified for finishing elite/gold.

Exactly this, I mean its not like I have never qualified but seems silly to make it harder to get there than it is once you are there. As said many times have it the other way around, play your "league" games Monday-Friday and then you qualify for special tournament depending on number of wins.

Yeah this wouldnt be the wisest of ideas. Generally the WL has been a sweatfest and will probably continue in this pattern for some time, and if you have problems qualifying at all it wouldnt be worth it for you in the end, as the players that have qualified are either regular division 1 players or above average at least.

Paying yourself into something like this would be a loss of coins, and probably would make you lose interest in the game.

The biggest advice is, play to improve, dont do whatever it takes to win all the time, as you will constantly do the same thing over and over again. If you play to improve you will improve game after game, and eventually qualifying will be a piece of cake.

I always determine how my opponent defends (is he a rusher, path intercepter, does he give you a second after you play a pass, is he bad at switching defenders with R3 etc) the first 25 ingame minutes, and then proceed to try to outplay him through this. Should be of some help.
