In CS me and 4 of my friends could play Fnatic or Luminosity and literally lose 1000/1000 times and it wouldn't even be close.

Sounds like not a fun game.
Yeah but when you're a professional team that puts in 80+ hours of work a week to be the best you possibly can and win as much money as you can, would you have fun losing to a team you're obviously better than?

I would not enjoy losing every time to someone I'm obviously better than, but it shouldn't be 1000/1000 and 0/1000.

In FIFA, I'm fine with the better player winning 7 times out of 10. Can't get upset over a sport that ends in 1-0 or 0-0 scorelines and matches that last just 12 minutes.
To each their own I guess, I just absolutely can't stand losing to someone I know I woulda beat any other day :D

I know I concede goals most often when I need to turn on yet another Peppa Pig episode, 3 seconds distraction and I'm down a goal.

Good players get punished for trying to play the game properly.

There is no proper way to play FIFA.

Agree tbf the game has a lot of exploits and flaws. Some are better at it then others but most play the same way. Zero pressure, 70plus aggression. Ptb and counter.

The issue really is the lack of balance between play styles, ever year counter attacking gets further and further ahead.

Do the very top players in the world play a counter-attacking pace style with Musa, Walcott, etc.? I was under the impression most top players used a slower, possession style with 85+ rated teams.

I don't play the very top players though, the average player only plays one way: counter attack.

A lot of top players lol but you have these wannabe top players who change formation at the start, make changes but play like sweaty ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Think I'm quitting soon. Wasted £600 this year, have a 7 mill team and the results are the same as when I had martial and a cheap team. Divisions is full of sweat and dirty tactics, as is the WL. The community aside from the forum is ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Keep finishing gold 3 and can't improve. The game annoys me anyway.

Probably going to try playing something else

Eventually everyone will realize that EA is under no delusion that FUT could be a competitive game along the lines of Halo or CS, and that the Weekend League is all about keeping casuals from getting roflstomped on the weekends. The tryhards fight to the death over a few 100k packs, and the casuals lean back and relax and play some games against other casuals and spend that cash on those shiny colorful cards.

Soccer is unfair in real life, maybe EA is trying to simulate that too...

the SUPER goal keeper has been an issue for me... I put a finesse from the edge of the keeper's box and he saves.. happened many times when I was behind in this last WL...

now I played a guy twice in seasons. First game I was testing my serie A untradeables with a 3-4-3... won 3-0... second game my main team,BBVA, 3-4-1-2, I lost 3-1 after scoring first... put everything in check for me... made everything random (Fifa wise)

Some great things coming in Title Update 4:

Players will no longer be able to set custom player positions in Team Management during gameplay.

Removed Est. Date, Crest and Squad Name from the FUT Champions matchup screen.

Changed the latency bar graphic to give more detail on connection quality.

Addressed an issue where a pass was made without a button press.

Adjusted the defensive line position for low pressure tactics. (PTB fix?)

Most casual friendly FIFA since FIFA 10.

Lowest skill gap since FIFA 14.

This game is awful in an 'e-sport' sense.

So many gameplay issues. Only 1 gameplay patch.

They've got to be thrilled at EA. They've conned the majority of the community and done it brilliantly.

How on earth have you come to that conclusion?

It quite clearly isn't. This thread is more than enough evidence for that.

I bet if you and I played, you'd have a chance to win.

    There's the evidence.

This game is very accessible for the casual players. Not enough advanced skill present in the game.

The game is not very accessible for the casual players at all. If you're not good enough to consistently get gold 3/2 + you're left behind in the market unless you spend FP.

There are no gold tournaments, singles matches are now f*cked and the community has gotten worse play style wise. Oh and on top of that, because of how much a grind WL is a lot of people can't play during the week now because they are so drained.

But because i could beat you in a game of fifa, it's good for the casual players?

Not sure if you haven't been paying attention on here or just f*cking arrogant.

    You misunderstood me.

I meant accessible in terms of gameplay.

Oh i see, excuse me then.

Still can't see how it can be the most casual fifa ever though. In fact it's the least, it's driving a lot of casual players away from the game. I can't see myself spending anywhere near the amount of money this year on fifa 18. No point any more with you either playing WL or get left behind.

Well in terms of gameplay I think it is.

As far as content, I could agree. Since the weekend league isn't really directed at casual players.

There's no casual game mode in FUT anymore I suppose.

There is, but experience has been torn apart since you face the same team and the same tactics of WL in friendlies.

This game is the best FUT ever for me, FUT Champions and SBC are the best things they have ever done. In terms of gameplay it's also the best for me even with some of the bad stuff in it, with some tweaks it's undoubtedly the best gameplay ever....people are forgetting how bad past FIFAs actually were.

Anyways I don't really mind the PTB, low pressure, counter attack etc because it's a competitive game mode and you can still overcome those things if you're good enough and adapt. The stuff that shouldn't be in the game at all is the delay, auto passing, established date on the screen etc, we have no control over that and can't do anything against it versus something like PTB/counter.

It's not about overcoming it. It's about being bored of it.

Waiting 10 minutes for a game because of your EST date?
4321 every WL game with the same players and same low pressure, counter attack tactics?
Best gameplay ever? This is even worse than 14. :D

once a month at least. these guys make enough money from this game to put in some development.

The main poison to this game which EA are exploiting is the use of streamers and YTers opening packs. I have been guilty of it in the past of seeing someone pack a legend or multiple TOTYS etc..... it gets the viewer excited as much as EA knowing the money going in their pocket. What most of the young audience dont realise is that some of these guys sit there for couple hours at a time and upload ten minutes of their "best bits". I pretty much showed up that whole "Double Chance" load of bollocks by opening 28 100k packs and even then my most expensive was Cech for 18k. Be pretty interesting to see player prices and also what would happen to streamers if Fifa Points were taken away (I know they never will be). Most of these streamers literally make their living opening packs for s baying mob!

I literally feel bad for anyone who continues to play this game after what I just saw. Thought id go try out the dailys for a few games, since I hadn't play in a while. heard the rumblings of a few updates so lets go kick the tires right?

First game in. Dominated Easy 2-0 Victory. with a cheap 2k silver team.

Second game in, things get interesting.

Im going up against a cheap silver team with 300k Aubamang up top. I originally thought it was silvers only but its cool. skill should overcome anything. moving on.

Auba makes it 1-0 for opponent. ok I got beat on the counter it was my fault, aubas fast and tough to cover. I conceded, im fine with it. it was my fault, he caught me out of position on the counter.

My silver team Equalizes somewhere in the 60th on some swift passing in the box with a clinical driven finish lower bottom corner.

Finally in the 90th minute, is where it gets interesting. Top of the box, his forwards dribbling right near my box, my defender steals the balls but never maintained control. It rolls on to his other forward. He maintains possession outside the box passing it eventually into Auba right near outside the box. I quickly switch to my Centerback defender to go after Auba. Instead his forward Runs into my Centerback and blocks my CB out of the play sending me spiraling backwards.

next Auba dribbles into the box and blasts one right into my other defender. Balls rebounds around my defender who proceeds to not even make an attempt to go after the ball and his forward gets a quick rebound goal. I literally deleted this game from harddrive right after this game. Not calling any conspiracy theories either, im just going to say this. I would not recommend this game to anyone after that.

@Th3 UK Smurf that's completely wrong this year imo. Pack openings are basicially useless now compared to back in the day. That's why most youtubers don't do many of them. Gameplay gets as many views and costs them less to make. And it's even worse with streamers since they show every pack meaning that 99.99% is absolutely shocking.

Yes views on streams spike during lightning rounds, but views is not where their money comes from. It comes from subs and those stay subbed anyways which means that again gameplay is much better for them since it cost them nothing to produce and still makes money.

Considering I haven't been on console in over a month but just trade and do SBCs, reading all the complaining and moaning threads (which are deserved in their own right because I know how brutal this game and community is) makes me no longer want to play it as well. I do have the urge to do the challenges and eventually play seasons offline with the cards but online has continuously gotten worse every year. I think a lot of times we try to blame the mechanics when the community does its best to exploit it before day 1.

You have a community where people upload videos of exploits and mechanics being abused in demos, not even at release. Then there is 3-5 days early release where people are abusing the game BEFORE it even hits the shelves. EA is pretty abysmal when it comes to quite a bit but I think the community needs to be held accountable as well for everything it does to undermine a game. When I last played in November my games weren't resembling the worst of 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, it was a completely different mess. I played 16 games in WL and it was the worst gaming experience I have ever had. A lot of the downfall has to do with YouTube and the rapid decline when coins were being sold. Remove those two factors of money being brought into the community and a showcase for exploits and the longevity of a fair play community could've been sustained for a few more years, but to no avail, this is where we are at.

Weekend league is here to stay but a lot of us wont. This was my favorite mode in any game and fifa became my favorite series, I will probably buy next year's edition but play strictly offline. Yeah its a bit redundant and boring offline but frustrations and stress levels go down.

PTB is not a problem nor cheap tactics opponents use. I dont blame anyone for using these tactics. I defend manually and due to player switching be so bad it costs me loads of goals.

Then you have passing what other games would you aim in one direction and it does something the complete opposite of what you have wanted to do. These are the things that need fixing first then we can take everything from there.

That's what I call an idiotic week. Still way less than in previous years. They mostly do pack openings for themselves, not because it gets them more money
