I use default and change in game with high pressure and possession depending on opponent .
Two cdm on stay back whilst attacking and St on target man working good for me

Try overlapping fullbacks gives you a new dimension to the attacking side. One of the CDMs will tend to fill in for them. Also wide CAMs on free form mean they come closer to the SC at times.

Been using this formation extensively for the past month and in my opinion it's the most balanced formation in the game and also the most suitable if you play a possession based game.

    CT
    57
    42
    O
    49
    55
    41
    FF
    41
    61
    31
    C

    Centre Backs-Default
    Full backs-Balanced/Overlap (personal preference)
CDMs-Stay back while attacking and one set to cut passing lanes and the other to man mark
    CAMs-Free roam
    ST-Stay central

Those instructions/tactics are what I've had a lot of success with recently.

I reached 33 wins with it in the WL (6 penalty shootout losses :'( )

It's a very strong formation in keeping possession and being patient on the ball.

I start with 4231(2) then switch to 4231(1) in game

    CTs: 70 30 Org 50 50 50 FF 30 50 50 Cover

    Instructions:

ST: Get in behind, Press backline
    CAMs: Free Roam
    CDMs: Man Mark, Stay back
    RB/LB: Stay back

When I'm chasing the game and my opponent is parking the bus I move the Wide CAMs to RF and LF.

Sorry, couldn't resist that... Because of your username... Home Alone reference..

But back on topic, I think the 4231 formations are my preferred formations this year too... Although I find it incredibly difficult to break down PTB opponents with it....

Those sets of custom tactics are interesting... I keep mine almost on default... But I'll definitely try out having my fullbacks on overlap...
