Will FIFA ever be fun again?
Obviously some people like way the game has evolved. But there is a great deal of players who find this to be the most frustrating and stressful FIFA game to date. Every game seems to leave you feeling stressed and generally peed off, win or lose. The game is simply about who can break down the computer assisted defence more and / or abuse glitches the most.
Anyone think this is likely to change? Computer games are supposed to be fun. If it wasn't for the trading element I would have already jumped ship to Pro Evo.

Kind of my thoughts too. When I think back to the likes of FIFA 14 or 13, there may have been pace or heading abuse but at least every game was exciting. This physical and defensive version of the game has just went way over the top in my opinion.
Actually I play it less and less. I more trade than anything else on the game. But thanks for the constructive discussion.
Haha more than likely. All they need to do is reduce how assisted defence is and make PTB less affective though.
Now I enjoy the game in short spells, but I honestly get bored after 4 games. It's full of that we can't talk about, it's full of try hards and it's full of people abusing game mechanics.
The fact they're not changing the gameplay in patch 2 is laughable as well. Likely to be my last fifa.
No I don't think it will make any difference at all. Where have I said it will? I'm simply asking peoples opinion on whether this is how the game will continue to evolve.

This is exactly it. Perhaps it's cause I'm not exactly a young pup. But I switch on the Xbox for a few hours when I can for some fun and release. I don't really want to have to change my soaking T shirt and have to have a J to calm down afterwords lol.
Im the same mate. I game for nothing else than fun. Given all the input delay on fifa 17, I might go see what fifa 16 is like still. Pace abuse will happen anyways, but at least that we can't speak about isn't as bad and there's no delay.

I played it offline. I've played a lot of fifa games, going back to the 90s. Been playing fut since 2011.
This year's has a lot of promise, but there's so many things making it so boring.
Yeah I really like the introduction of SBC. It has made he market way more unpredictable and given value to normally throwaway cards. Credit where it's due.
They shouldn't have 2 competitive game modes like Seasons and the WL (and qualifiers). One of them need to be removed and replaced with a cup mode with low rewards to attract less try-hard users. Maybe then more people will be able to enjoy this game.
Yeah this is very true. I have no idea how anyone could play 40 games in a weekend. But then I guess I don't have the time or competitive nature as many. If I jammed 40 stressful online games into a cpl of days I really doubt I would ever play the game again.
I agree with this in the main but I still want it as a competitive mode as well , actually I would prefer it as a competitive mode.
Fifa 10 online ranked matched was so great. Fut was good also but it came later so in the start only mode was h2h.
Did not have seasons back then so was ranking based and you got certain set of points by winning and lost points by losing getting matched up against equal opponents
