Legacy Defending..

Have any of you tried legacy defending (offline obviously)? I'm having a Fifa tourny with mates tonight, and one of them STILL insists on using legacy defending like a ****. I'm just wondering if it's severely over-powered, or whether it will render his defenders useless? Is it easy to beat with a few simple passes or will he have a backline of homing missiles?

We've tried banning him from using it and he just says he won't play otherwise. :expressionless:

The real crime is the rest of you playing with AUTO passing/shooting and not letting your friend use Legacy Defending. How about you guys play full manual to determine who in fact has the most skill at the game?

Legacy defending is where it is at; most of the changes like tactical defending made over the last 3 or 4 years are the worst parts about FIFA today. Look at what they did to dribbling and skill moves to boot. FIFA is in a sad state these days.

Most people just let the CPU do all the tackling for them now adays anyway they're practically using legacy defending anyway as they just hold the secondary press button while they control a midfielder. The higher up the fifa ladder you go the less likely you are of seeing somebody actually use the tackle button to defend.

So if you've played online and done really well in Fifa you already know how to beat legacy defending.

You should remove the 'from' and add a 'for' there. Problem solved.

This, indeed, is a good idea.
Full manual and tactical defending would actually be a more balanced setting.

Still, the important thing here is that all players should use the same settings: TD and assisted? So be it, for everyone.
Using LD when everybody else is using TD is as bad as using fully assisted controls when everyone else is using full manual.

:joy: Calm down mate - two of the lads don't even have a console let alone a copy of Fifa. If we made them play on manual it'd be like asking Stevie Wonder for a game of darts.
