How-To: Take and Post a Screenshot

Taking, hosting and posting a screenshot is very simple, and can be done using a variety of different methods. Below you will find easy to follow instructions for common methods on a Windows computer, Mac computer and Smart Phone.

Windows Computer
  • Press the Windows Key pdKOQKY.png + r on your keyboard at the same time. Type SnippingTool and click OK.

  • Click New to take a rectangular screenshot, or click the drop-box to select your choice of screenshot type. Your cursor will turn into a cross-hair. To exit, click Cancel or press Esc on your keyboard.

  • Drag the cross-hair around the image of your squad, and release.

  • When the screenshot opens, press Ctrl + c on your keyboard at the same time. If you wish, you can save the screenshot to your hard drive by clicking File, followed by Save As....
  • Go to Imgur and click upload images. Consider bookmarking Imgur in your browser for future use.

  • Press Ctrl + v on your keyboard at the same time and click Start Upload.
  • Note: Pasting straight onto the homepage without first clicking upload images is possible.

  • Once the image is uploaded, click the text box under BBCode (message boards & forums). Press Ctrl + c on your keyboard at the same time to copy, return to your post, and press Ctrl + v on your keyboard at the same time to paste.
  • Your image is now ready to be posted. Before posting, you may wish to preview your post by clicking the Preview button.

Windows & Mac Computer
  • Download and install Gyazo (follow the prompts).
  • Once installed, open the programme and drag the cross-hair around the image of your squad. You can quickly launch the programme by pressing Ctrl + Shift + c on your keyboard at the same time.
  • A new window will open with a URL for your hosted image. Copy the URL.
  • In your forum post, click the Insert Image button eBodcdm.png and paste the URL.
  • Note: If your URL does not contain an extension at the end, add .png.
    Eg. [lMG]hxxp://gyazo.com/f8eb634f177244bg9fec2g9b541cgc7e.png[/lMG]
  • Your image is now ready to be posted. Before posting, you may wish to preview your post by clicking the Preview button.

Mac Computer
  • Press Command + Shift + 4 on your keyboard at the same time. Your cursor will turn into a cross-hair.
  • Drag the cross-hair around the image of your squad, and release. Copy the image.
  • Go to Imgur and click upload images. Consider bookmarking Imgur in your browser for future use.

  • Take a screenshot of your squad using your smart phone's screenshot function. For many phones, this is a double-tap of the Home button. However, make and models vary, so consult your phone's documentation if you're unsure.
  • Go to Imgur using your phone's browser, and select upload.
  • Select device, and navigate to your screenshot.
  • Select start upload.
  • Once the image is uploaded, click the drop-down box V and select BBCode V.
  • Copy the code and paste in your post.
  • Your image is now ready to be posted. Before posting, you may wish to preview your post by clicking the Preview button.
