Ken Russel's The Devils is one of the finest films ever made. Hence my avatar. I'd also recommend 'A Serbian Film'. It's a beatifully made film about a really grim subject. It's disturbing but utterly unforgettable. Then there's Australian classic Bad Boy Bubby. Another one of my absolute favourites. Made over the course of 10 years on a shoestring budget but one of the most moving and powerful films I've ever seen.

Absolutely. If you've a mature understanding of life and value the smallest of gestures, this movie will be more than just a movie

Good call. One of the modern greats. I was doing film studies at college when this came out, I was so blown away by the perfection of it all that I quit college as if never be able to make something so perfect!

Also two other modern greats, 'The Silence of The Lambs' and the original 'Robocop' are equally perfectly crafted!

I'm not even an anime fan, but "Spirited Away" is very, very good. Also, "American Psycho".

Totally agree... anything by Hayao Miyazaki and/or Studio Ghibli is bound to be brilliant.
