Relieved we've got points on the board and so bloody happy. Atmosphere was incredible.

Performance was absolutely brilliant. Jota was sublime, the ball through to Wesley was fantastic. He looked great throughout preseason so have been a little surprised to see him as a sub but he certainly took his chance tonight. Guilbert as well behind very good. Them two had great chemistry in preseason so delighted to see them pick it up again, our right side looked excellent.

Absolutely chuffed to bits for Wesley after that tonight, he was just something else. Dominated the Everton CB's. His hold up play was outstanding and was then able to bring other players into the attack thanks to his hold up. Brilliant finish as well. That's exactly what he needed, a 10/10 performance like that to get him going.

I've thought it for a while now after his performances last season and now coming into the Premier League and still keeping to the same standards, with Southgate watching tonight I'm going to say now Mings will be in the England squad at some point this season.

Brilliant night, onto Palace next week.

Almost forgot to praise Engels. Have to say he's looked really good in these first few games. Despite conceding 5 in our first 2 the general consensus from Villa fans has been that actually our 2 centre backs and Heaton have been very good.

Engels again tonight though just brilliant, fantastic block in the first half. So composed brilliant defender. I was desperate for us in the summer to do everything to sign Tuanzebe and I really thought we'd miss him but Engels has filled that position superbly well.
  • Wow what an amazing atmosphere last night.
    It was electric.
Gary Neville said it's his favourite ground after old Trafford
Summed up pretty well by farlz so no need to add anything there.
I even made a couple of appearances on sky sports cameras 🤣

Fantastic result considering the amount of chances Everton had. Wesley took his opportunity well and happy for El Ghazi to add a little bit of icing at the end.

    Bring on Palace next.

Fantastic news and truly deserved. £20m was an absolute bargain.

Big result in the League Cup in midweek, even against minnows like Crewe. Its like we were City in disguise. :D

Wrapped for Mings. Its the least the guy deserved. 20 odd mil was an absolute steal, United spent around 80 mil for Maguire and I'm not even sure if hes any better, they can't even keep a clean sheet right now. Sorry to the United fans in here but I'm sure you'd all be thinking the same thing.

Palace is imminent. I'd take a draw against them, they will definitely be going into this game with loads of confidence. I've also got fears of the big fella Benteke potentially sticking one or two past us.

    **** disgraceful.

How vital could this lost point be at the end of the season.
And now we got two weeks to dwell on it too.
    Gutted.

Its not the first time we've been robbed. Pretty sure we got done against West Brom last season or the season before.

It's going to be a struggle until January, there's just no goal scoring threat for us whatsoever.

Wingers look very poor, Wesley never looks like scoring at all, thought he'd push on after Everton but nope. It will be a miracle if he scores 10 this season and McGinn and Grealish not quite up to it yet either.

The positive I guess is that Mings and Engels are very good.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Wesley @Farlz, I still feel he'll come good, he just needs to adjust to the speed of the Prem. Benteke didn't take long, sure, but the game has definitely developed significantly in the last 7 or so years.

I agree that results will be hard to come by, we need every point we can get at home because I don't think we'll be witnessing many successful away days, although I have a feeling we'll get something at the Emirates.

Players like Trezeguet and El Ghazi need to improve if we are any chance of surviving this season. Speed and service from the flanks is what is needed in this league and we're just not creating enough so far.

Yeah post match comments possibly a little harsh, does need time. Has good bits to his game, I think his link up play is pretty good but he just doesn't fill me with confidence goal wise right now.

You're spot on with the likes of Trez, El Ghazi and also Jota who really need to improve, not enough coming from out wide so far which was also a bit of an issue last season.

Tomorrow is gonna be tough. Even with the Arsenal circus defence I can't see us causing many problems and while at the other end we're pretty good, I also can't see us keeping them out.

10 men against West Ham for 20 minutes on Monday and 10 men today for about 50 minutes and we don't win either is probably why we're gonna get relegated this season. Don't take our chances and crumble under any sort of pressure.

    We're in trouble.

The fact that there are some people who think it wasnt handball, including the commentators of the game when I was watching it means it wasnt blatant. Therefore it wouldn't be reversed.

Got to win against Burnley at home. We drop any points and I'll be very concerned. These are the sort of matches we should be winning.

I really don't understand what our problem is. We've played great again and yet we've dropped more points. I'd rather we just keep playing rubbish so at least then I understand the problem.

McGinn sensational, Grealish/Targett/Nakamba great, Wesley useless and the less said about Neil Taylor when he come on the better.

At this point I genuinely have no idea how or where we're gonna win a game. How are we going to lead at Spurs, twice at Arsenal and twice against Burnley and come away with 1 point? :weary:

Its time to start worrying. We can't beat Burnley at home, so who are we going to beat? I don't understand it either, most of these sides aren't much better than what we faced in the Championship, so how are we struggling all of a sudden with a much better squad of players?

At this point I'll be happy to finish 17th. Its about all we can hope for I feel.

Bloody chuffed, so pleased with that. Like I said our performances have deserved more IMO so to go away and stick 5 past Norwich is a massive boost for us.

Grealish in the wide free role allowing him to do whatever he likes is a joy to watch.

What a result. Pleasantly surprised with that. We've absolutely handed it to last season's champions. This could finally be the platform to a safe and steady season.

Its a shame Wesley couldn't get his hat trick with that missed penalty, but that game has proven to me that he definitely has what it takes to lead our line.

Thats a massive three points and a real confidence boost. I'm now looking forward to playing again.
