Come on @Farlz. We shouldn't be trying to find excuses anymore. We're not in a good state and the club has made some awful decisions, thats the bottom line.

Grealish being out isn't ideal by any means but we still shouldn't be playing as bad as we have been without him, plus we should have done something in the transfer window to address the hole he left anyway. Tuanzebe is a big loss though I definitely agree there, hes the only one whos actually been decent most of the time.

When is Tuanzebe back? Any news?

I sincerely hope Dean Smith has a plan in place already for next season.

    Utterly depressing times.

I’m now starting to question if smith actually has the caliber to get up back up?

His last month or so has been poor.
Can’t blame it all on Grealish being out.
And his team choice on Saturday was questionable.

I'm not sure if I'm questioning Dean Smith just yet. I just feel as though his hands are tied somewhat. His style of football he gets his teams playing is generally positive, although of late I'd say otherwise, we've been playing like a Steve Bruce team a lot more, which is why I suspect something is wrong at the club that is restricting Smith from putting his stamp fully on what he wants to build (I hope this isn't the case but can't help but think it is).

Lets just see what happens before next season. Smith needs a chance with a full transfer window.

We love playing Derby. 7-0 this season against them. :)

Got to say that the 4-0 result was unexpected even with Grealish back in the side. It just goes to show how important he actually is to us. Unbelievable how a couple years ago he was completely the opposite to what he is now.

Its such a shame how bad the timing is. This result would of been great a couple of months ago. Look at it this way, at least we can go into next season with a positive mindset, provided we don't get any more key players injured.

Thank god Grealish is back. Love that he was made captain as well.

So pleased with yesterday, it was complete control from minute 1 to 90. We're just a completely different side with Grealish, him being on the pitch frees up so much more space for the other midfielders and wingers it's a joy to watch. Jack makes everything look so easy and well his goal I don't even know what to say just incredible. We've got our own goal of the season battle with the Grealish and McGinn goals.

Need to mention Mings as well, my god the bloke is fantastic. He's like Tuanzebe, fantastic on the ball and so calm. Smith has said Tuanzebe should be back in training on March 11th so we should get to see Mings and Tuanzebe together at the back by the end of the month.

A Villa man in charge and a Villa man as captain, I **** love it.

In my 21 years on planet Earth, the football in the first half yesterday was genuinely the best I've seen at Villa. It was absolutely unbelievable, how we only scored once I'll never know.

Huge win though and that makes it 5 on the bounce and up to 5th. Next week is the tough one, dreading it already against Bruce.

We're just so good right now. You would think we're top of the league looking at our recent form.

I'm actually looking forward to playing Bruce. We know what to expect: boring, drab, unimaginative, one dimensional dinosaur football.

We should just dominate the entire match even away from home. As long as we get our shots on target we should win comfortably.

This is a fantastic run we're on, I'm loving it.

10 men for the majority of the game, Tammy missed a pen and we still come back from a goal down to win away from home. Brilliant. Yes it was only Rotherham but its still great to see.

Taking this sort of form into the playoffs will help us a lot. This might actually be the season we do it.

8 in a row. Incredible. First time since 1975 we've achieved such a run, we won promotion that season.

I usually don't like saying these things but I can't see us dropping out of the playoffs now. This was the game for me and we won it without key players Grealish and Mings. If their keeper doesn't save them the amount of times he did it would have been very comfortable.

Everything is great right now. Love the players, love the football and I love the manager. What I'd do for us to go up and be able to keep the likes of Tammy, Tuanzebe and Mings 🙏

I really hope you guys get promoted, I want Tuanzebe to stay with you guys for another year but in the PL for the next stage in his development

I love him so much, he's fantastic. I'd say his one slight weakness would be aerial duels but other than that the bloke is top notch.

Makes me smile when you see these England teams for the future and for whatever reason you never really see Tuanzebe. There's no doubt in my mind he's going right to the top.

I completely agree, I've watched quite a few of your games and just about every time I've seen him play he's been excellent. He's only going to get better like you say, and I'd rather him stay with you guys for another year rather than him having to get used to another teams style. It just makes sense for him to stay with Villa if you go up.

It was a shame he got the injury he did, thankfully he's back now though, should be a big boost for you guys in the final stretch of the season

I'm just so happy that we are experiencing good times. We've had to endure so much rubbish this whole decade.

I really think that we have a big chance of going up now. Its exciting to be a Villa fan right now and long may it continue.
