Please no silly suggestions, it wastes everyone's time
How is that a silly suggestion? He's played fantastic in a Stoke side going for their highest ever finish in the Premier League. Your comment is extremely worrying seeing as you are in such a powerful position, in charge of the most popular thread of the year. Nzonzi is very worthy
Marco Veratti: Although he only has 5 assists to his name, Veratti has been great for PSG this season, consistently bossing the midfield, always breaking up the opposing teams attacks, and launching his teams own. He has shown that he is a great dribbler and passer of the ball multiple times this season. He also received a deserved upgrade as well.
Yannick Carrasco: He is one of the revelations of the season with Monaco. Although Monaco are more known for their solid defence, Carrasco has been able to score some crucial goals and assists this season, to keep Monaco in the hunt for CL spot.
Layvin Kurzawa is an obvious choice. Monaco's defense has been unbelievable this year and is what brought them back into title contention. I want to say they have something like 15 clean sheets and Kurzawa has been a huge part of that but also contributes on offense. He only has three assists but his passing percentage is at 76% and has won MOTM 4 different times in 18 Ligue 1 appearances.
The other Ligue 1 spot is a huge toss up between three very deserving central midfielders:
Gonalons, Veratti, and Imbula. All have been ridiculously solid in defense for their respective squads and all boast high 80s to low 90s passing percentages. As an OM fan, I hate to say this but Veratti probably deserves it the most as he is just unbelievable in distribution and how he sees the game (even though he plays dirty, lol). He has won MOTM 4 times and held together a struggling PSG team while Zlatan was out.
- Karim Bellarabi (Leverkusen/Bundesliga). Leverkusen is a team with a lot of ups and downs in a season and despite all of that, Bellarabi was great and really consistent.
- Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04/Bundesliga). Schalke's captain, one of the best defenders in the league this season (with Naldo, Stranzl and Boateng). He also scored in both games against Bayern to equalize for his side.
- Patrick Herrmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach/Bundesliga). He scored some crucial goals for his side in the race for a CL spot, even when his team seemed to be having a really hard time.
Shock how people who don't support united haven't mentioned Phil jones or Herrera....
Kosicelny has performed better than Phil Jones, played more games, had an injury which didn't help but other than that has been solid, taken us to the FA cup semi finals and almost champions league quarter finals, if Phil jones gets in ahead of Koscielny it would be a joke
Guys if you want your recommendations to be taken on board, you have to do more than just post names. Give as much info as possible so it's easier to see who is deserving and who isn't. Will help the discussion to flow better
Herrera has played 11 games, how is he getting so many mentions.
He's played 18 and will no doubt add to that as the season progresses now.
He has played 1149 minutes which is 12 and a half games.
He's appeared in 18 though, and will definitely add to that. I don't think playing every game should be a prerequisite if a player has been consistent and very good when he's got the opportunity to.
I only really watch Bundesliga, so I'll stick with that.
Alexander Meier (Eint. Frankfurt / Bundes) - Leading goal-scorer in the Bundesliga with 19 league goals plus one in the Pokal. Amazing presence in the zone, and no question he should get recognition. He's also 6'5" and a beast!
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern / Bundes) - Had injury problems in fall 2014, but has been a rock in the midfield since then. Consistently has loads of touches, great passes and long passes, and a few really strong goals.
Honorable mention -
Robert Lewandowski (Bayern / Bundes) - 18 goals in all non-friendly competitions so far, consistently making a nuisance of himself around the opponent's goal, and this while sharing goal-scoring responsibilities with a team full of attackers.
Xabi Alonso (Bayern) - For much the same reason as Schweinsteiger, so much of the play has had to pass throug him.
Marco Reus (Bor. Dort.) - When he's healthy, huge threat for both scoring and setting up his teammates. He's a big reason Aubamayeng has a couple IFs.
Roberto Firmino (1899 Hoff) - Makes sick plays and a real threat to score from the midfield.
Max Kruse (Bor. M'Glad.) - Goal-scoring threat on a really tough all around team.
Karim Bellarabi (Bayer 04) - So many shots on target from the slashing winger.
Raul Bobadilla (Augsburg, would be gold if he got an IF) - Very solid player from a team who's been surprisingly good.
Jordan Henderson(Liverpool) - I was never his biggest fan but he has been Liverpool's most consistent performer this season, he's chipped in with important goals, played in numerous positions and has shown real leadership when taking on the captains armband.
Nathaniel Clyne(Southampton) - A real breakthrough season for him given the fact his main competition in Callum Chambers moved to Arsenal last summer. He's thrived from the very first game, he's played a huge role in Southampton's good season, chipping in with goals and assists whilst also looking very competent defensively.
Those are the two that stand out to me at the moment, not sure who my other 4 would be yet.
Having a great season (bar the 4 match ban he recently got). He's had an average rating of 7.6, scoring 5 goals and assisting 2 - impressive for a player who majorly plays a huge part in defence. As ludicrous as it seems, he has one of the best defensive records for a midfielder in the BPL (beating Matic, Yaya, Fellaini, Schneiderlin etc...). He's even been doing great for the Aussies throughout the year (helping them win the Asian Cup). His tackles, interceptions are all attributes that he's excelled in this season. He should be considered in my opinion.
Edit - Actually think he has the best defensive record for a BPL midfielder this season.

He has played 1149/2700 minutes. That just isn't enough.

He's started 11 and been sub in 7, hardly shouts pick me for TOTS imo

How is it silly? he is a great box to box midfielder and has played every league game for Stoke this season as they fight for top half finish
