Indeed, because scoring a goal makes a centre back good :joy:

Cup game too, doesn't even count.
  • Virgil Van Dijk (Celtic) has scored 9 goals this season, made an average of 7 clearances a game, had 3.4 interceptions average a game. He also has an 81 % passing accuracy and lots of clean sheets (you can't find that stat). Get him in the TOTS Most Consistent

9 goals includes cup games and Europe. These stats are not for SPL alone

Clean sheets and goals are the only ones you can find that actually count towards this :D

    Ba out.

Pabon has no chance since he got a Totw in week 46 last year. And you use stats from last season to show him off so its not possible

Where did you find these stats? https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/players/virgil-van-dijk/ says he's made 1.96 clearances per game.

Virgil van Dijk has 30 league appearances. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in those 30 appearances. He has only conceded 13 goals in those appearances which is phenomenal.

How much of that is down to the other defenders?

How about the following chances? Just curious.

if Bravo and Soriano get an in-form this week

GK: Claudio Bravo (Liga BBVA - FC Barcelona) OUT
LB: Marcelo (Liga BBVA - Real Madrid) IN

ST: Jonatan Soriano (A. Bundesliga - RB Salzburg) OUT
ST: Teófilo Gutiérrez (Primera División - River Plate) IN

    Laurent Koscielny for Lukasz Fabianski?

How is Fabianski still in here when he has conceded 3 or more goals on 5 separate occasions this season. He has also made, multiple individual errors this season, he was sent off for a professional foul against west ham, gave away a ridiculous goal against Liverpool by booting the ball straight at Adam Lallana & spilt a tame free kick right in the path of Andy King, gifting Leicester a goal. How is this Consistent....?

First thing you've posted about 40 times has already been refuted. Second thing you've posted about 40 times also already been refuted. 3 errors, one was an incorrect decision from the ref, so 2 really. How about you address that list of 14 errors Ajax NR 1 posted? That reflects far worse on Koscielny than the 2 errors you've posted reflect on Fabianski.

Incorrect decision from the ref...? The red card was not overturned from the F.A, so it was a correct decision.

These so called error of Koscielny's have already been addressed by another user so I will quote him below. In case I quote it wrong, the errorwas addressed (Page 243, April 14th, 2015, 3:20pm).

To also back up the case for these errors, click this link (http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9777914/terry-kompany-koscielny-who-is-the-premier-leagues-best-centre-back). Quite close to the top of the page is a image that has the names of the BPL best CB's. The image clearly shows that Koscielny has been at fault for the LEAST amount of individual errors leading to shots/goals in the league.

You keep banging on about these highlights. So fine, I'll comment on what you've just stated..

There is 1 error vs Chelsea, the Hazard foul. The second goal is Mertesacker's inability to cover Koscielny. The second defender should be covering Costa. And arguably Szczesny's at fault for not coming out sooner.

With the Mane goal, Kos gets the wrong side of the player, granted. But there is no danger with Mane out on the wing, but Szczesny suddenly runs out for no reason! That's where the mistake was made. The main person at fault for this goal is Szczesny, not Koscielny. There is also Mertesacker's woeful attempt at clearing the ball off the line. You speak of Koscielny failing to deal with Pelle? When is this? The second goal is scored by Tadic and once again Szczesny's at fault. Koscielny has no part to play in this..

The game against Spurs, probably the worst I've seen us play in the Prem this season. Koscielny had no part to play in Kane's first goal. Admittedly he was involved in Kane's second goal, but in all honesty its a brilliant header. Can't really blame him for that goal in my opinion. Its the time Bentaleb has on the ball to whip in the cross which is where the mistake was made.

Not that phenomenal when you remember half the SPL teams are basically pub teams.

He was the victim of a massive hatchet job when people were trying to force Koscielny down our throats and was thrown out.

Didn't matter for Matic, Azpi and Cahill getting ToTS most consistent last year, or Schneiderlin and Clyne getting ToTS Most Consistent this year.

Let's not be hypocrites or adopt double standards. Van Dijk had a great season, just like he did last year. Deserves to be in.

Would have to disagree on all 3 I'm afraid. Definitely not Granqvist. Nollito and Jonas for me.
